What a weekend

Can you guess what I did this weekend? I never imagined I'd even consider making a trip like this but thanks to my good friends who convinced me to go. I HAD AN AWEEEESOOOOOOME weekend. Good vibes all around with the exception of a certain um.. yes. That. Hahaha!

I brought another roll of film and took pictures with my supersampler. I can't wait to have them developed. My last good roll was the one of my trip to Puerto Galera. Our pictures came out great because of the strong sunlight. So I'm hoping the ones from this trip come out nice, too.

Until our next trip, girls! I'm so happy we did this together. (: SO much fun.

I can't get Everyday Is A Holiday (With You) out of my head now. I randomly sway from side to side with the tune in my head. I must look really stupid because no one else can hear the damn music. Hahaha!

There's no stopping us

This year, I'll reach that pinnacle
This year, I'll get to the top
People'll realize where she got that energy
This year, I'm never gonna stop

I really have a good feeling about this year. And I'm glad I feel that I'm finally back on track. These past few days have been stressful but I'm glad to know that I'm actually doing things right. :P

This morning was like Christmas in our house because my brother finally got back from his trip. It was funny seeing him waiting for everyone's reactions when he handed out our pasalubong.

Life's been good. (: And for once, I'm not really asking for anything more than this.

"That was dinner."

I'm very easy to please with movies. Even bad movies, I enjoy. Haha! (Case in point, Ghost Rider—what a total laugh trip!)

But then, there are those lovely little gems that are romantic comedies. I'm a sucker for those. :D I love that it's always just boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, the end. Haha! Sometimes you don't need a complicated plot to enjoy a good movie. Maybe sometimes you want something that you can make you laugh and feel good.

This is exactly how Music and Lyrics was for me. My favorite part has got to be when Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore) tells Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) that the lyrics are just as important as the melody. That the melody is the first encounter, the physical attraction. The lyrics? That's like getting to know the person in a deeper way. I loff et! So much that I watched it twice. :P Haha!

P.S.
I loff my text marathons with Pats whenever the chismis shows are on. :P

An open (love)letter

To whom it may concern,

I don't know if I've met you already or if I have yet to meet you. But I do know that when that time comes, we won't have to try so hard. It will feel natural and familiar. I won't need to explain myself and you won't need to prove yourself to me.

I will be my usual goody-two-shoes self and you'll put up with my sometimes-brattiness. You won't care that I don't like vegetables, but will secretly prepare a veggie dish disguised as some meat-looking entree. I'll make mix CDs for you even if sometimes, it'll be just a mix of three songs that I've been listening to the entire week. My YM status message will always be about you. You'll pick me up from work and won't care that I stink because I went to the gym. We'll eat pizza when I'm feeling bad and you'll treat me to ice cream. And we'll watch a movie just so I can hold your hand. :">

My family will ask about you and I won't need to convince them that you're good for me. You'll bring me home on Sunday afternoons to meet your family and we'll have dinner with mine. We'll take turns on weekends on which set of friends to hang out with. Maybe sometimes, we each spend time with a different set apart. To be missed will make us look forward to each other.

I won't care if we don't see each other for months, I know that you will eventually come home to me. I won't worry that you've forgotten about me, because you will always keep in touch—even if you will need to spend for postage to send letters to me.

We'll fight and we'll cry and we'll be miserable—but only for a while. We'll kiss and make up and realize our mistakes (whoever was wrong at the time) and forgive whoever was at fault.

I don't know if I've met you or we have yet to cross paths. But someday.. Someday, I know I will love you. (:

Love,
Me

* Happy Valentine's, everyone! (: I hope you're happy not just on the 14th but every single day that you're alive. Or that you've found at least one reason to be happy. (:

Mac Virgin :P

I am currently typing this entry on my brother's laptop. Hahaha! I have never really used a Mac before so it was kind of strange using this at first. He says when he buys a new laptop, he's handing this down to me. I don't really have any use for it but WOW how fun is it to just stay in my room and surf to my heart's content?! Winner ang wi-fi! I loff et!

Our new Mr. Willy is really strange sometimes. I don't like the way he drives (he likes honking the horn so early in the morning and abuses the bright headlights uuuugh) and I feel like he's soooo impatient. Anyway, since my parents weren't around, I went to Saturday night by myself. Since my friends and I are heading to the Great Clark Trip, I figured I'd buy film for my supersampler. I distinctly remember a Fuji film stand in National Bookstore so I went there after Mass. Apparently, they stopped selling camera film a LONG time ago. Hahaha! I haven't been to that branch in a while. :P So ANYWAY, I asked the new Mr. Willy to buy 2 boxes of Fuji Film/100ASA/12 shots. I specifically said 12 because I want to finish the film (if I won't use up the entire 24 shots) right away so I can have it developed. BUT the new Mr. Willy decides to buy 1 box of 24 shots, anyway. ARGH. As if my instructions weren't clear enough on paper. HELLO. If I wanted a box of 24 shots, wouldn't I have asked for it? GEEZ. I really hate it when people botch up with such simple instructions. Hay. So I need to finish the 24 shots or else I'll never get the film developed. Haha! Ang laki ng problema ko noh? Sorry, I just get really irritated by little things. WAH. Mr. Willy is really gone. ):

ANYHOO. My brother's leaving in a bit and he's bringing this laptop with him. Time for me to log off. I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE TRIP! Sleepy time!

P.S.
He says this might be mine a week from now. Haha! O diba? Libreng iBook, san ka pa?!

Y'all know how I get obsessed

Please give it a listen. It's my favorite song right now. But y'all know that's going to change in a couple of days or so. Haha! But yeah. This is a lovely song and I've already posted this in LiveJournal and in the Candy blog. That's how much I love it.

And look at how cute Sean Lennon is when she goes, "..when I think of Sean, you're like my favorite song.." Aww. ♥

When I grow up, I want to be Veronica Mars!, Part 2

Check out my office desktop. Don't you love it? Haha! Got it off this LJ. It was originally "Dear Seventeen Magazine," and I edited to say "Candy."

I saw Dreamgirls last night with Ñapie, Lani, and Pete. Halfway through the movie, I wanted to yell at the screen, "Stop singing, please!" Hehe :P But I thought Jamie Foxx was awesome (he was such a jerk!) and Jennifer Hudson, IMHO, deserves all the awards she's being nominated for.

In other unrelated and even random-er news, I'm excited for this. (:

I was bait for you

Crazy as it all plays out
I think I'm lonelier than I've ever been before
'Cause I was so close
To going through that door
But I don't want to be to blame for them
I don't want to be to blame

Oh, would you please get out from under my skin?
'Cause I can't begin this yet
And I don't know what my intentions are
They're speaking in a different tongue
And, deep inside, I'm not as tough as I seem
But I won't let you know
Until it's right, I'm gonna stay my distance, and you should go
Oh, would you please get out
I'm not as strong as I seem, but I won't let you know

How's this for random?

Oh my God! "We are the gwapings!" Hahaha! Aylavet! The original gwapings were on ASAP today. It's Mr. M's birthday. I couldn't stop laughing while they were projecting old pictures of the trio on the screen behind them. I LOVED Palibhasa Lalaki and even watched the reruns on Cinema One. Jao Mapa was even the fourth gwaping.

This is a winner episode of ASAP, I have to say. Hehe! The entire cast of Super Inggo was just on. And I'm soooo sad that it's going to end soon. (Last week and finale on Friday! *cries*) I haven't been able to watch the past few weeks, but I always try to catch it when I get home early. I actually want to buy the DVD set. Can you believe it? Haha!

A good friend of mine is selling super pretty Jordi Labanda bags. Check out the bags and leave her a message on LiveJournal if you're interested. I want to get myself the Brunette messenger bag!

Try Something New

I've never been a fan of things unknown to me. I'm not adventurous with the kind of food that I eat. I don't like going to places I've never been to before. I'm not comfortable with people I've just met.

But this year, I've started to slowly inch my way out of my comfort zone and experience things for the first time. I've tried eating things that look foreign to me and try places that I wouldn't set foot in.

Just two days ago, I sat down in a beautifully-decorated deli somewhere in Sheridan. Their chairs and walls were painted in beautiful colors. And there was a big blue door welcoming you at the entrance. I loved it. The food was good and not too expensive. Normally, I wouldn't have gone there unless I had a friend who could vouch for it. But I tried it and I can't wait to go back and bring my friends there.

Yesterday, I went on another food trip, which I'd have to say is the best I've been on so far. So good that I'd encourage you to book a tour yourself.

Next week, I'm going on another trip and I can't wait! It's also going to be a first for me so wish me luck. I hope I don't get scared to try anything that looks strange or unfamiliar. I think now is the best time to experience everything for the first time. (:

Happy birthday, MacyCandy*!

Today marks the first year that I've been in my second job. A job that I love and I hope I will love for a couple more years. It was just like any other day. I had a meeting in the morning for our latest project and it didn't run for as long as I thought it would. We waited a lot longer than we had the meeting, I think. We also had a great lunch at this deli/bistro, which had the most beautiful paintings on the walls. I had a super laid back day back in the office and it ended with a great workout.

An entire year has passed and it doesn't feel like it at all. I feel like it's only been a week ago that I handed in my resignation letter and transferred to Summit. But it's not entirely the same. I recognize the familiar faces and they know me, too. I get called by my name now and not just because it's written at the back of my chair. I have comfortably settled in and I'm looking to stay a while longer—even if there are some good byes that need to be said.

*The big boss calls me this. For a long time, she kept calling me Candice (someone else from the office) because it's closer to Candy. Hahaha!
