Out

Sometimes, I can't be bothered to get out of bed, but I'd been sick for 10 days (10 days!) and I was not about to spend another holiday wasting away. I was feeling much better after the concert so I figured maybe a night out won't be so bad.

Figured out a new way to style my hair. I've been obsessing about Kelly Framel's hair since I decided to start growing out my pixie and I attempted to amplify my waves with my flat iron. (:  Didn't really stay curled too long, but I'm glad my flat iron will see the light of day again (it was so expensive, ack!).

Headed to a new place that didn't make me feel old. No grinding kids on top of each other (I swear this has happened—and not too long ago!), music I can actually sing along to, and more importantly, no smoking (yet, haha)! Kind of glad I decided to go out dancing with my friends. Worth standing in heels for 5 hours. Haha!

Woke up for lunch today and didn't leave my room again till I needed to go to the bathroom. Thank goodness for the holiday. (:

Can't wait for next weekend. Also, November means I'm turning 29 soon. Twenty-nine. Can you believe it?

My Most Fashionable Obsession Yet

I'm not one of those girls who are obsessed with designer bags. Not even designer anything. I don't line up outside stores to get my hands on a collection that's being launched on the same day. I don't know what's wrong with me. Hahaha.

Until I met the most fashionable bunny. I forget who introduced me to her. It was probably Teen Vogue or a random link on some random blog that I stalk. I had her blog bookmarked and found myself looking forward to each post, which is funny since all she wears are designer duds. Something I've never really paid much attention to.

When she posted her tees, I asked my friend Mikko to order for me and I'd pay her when she came home to visit. Then, when Forever 21 opened their first store in Manila, I was thrilled when they brought in Fifi Lapin apparel. I went as far as having a Gelaskin customized (thank you, Tatin!) so that my iPod would have fashionable Fifis all over. I used her blog's footer and just tiled the pattern on Photoshop. Tatin made sure my favorite (the one in heart-shaped glasses) was in front and in the middle of the Gelaskin. (:

Now, whenever I spot a Fifi Lapin print on anything, I buy it. I wish I had better self-control. But yesterday, while I was browsing Kids of Bayo for a present for one of my goddaughters/baby cousins, I zoomed in on the FUNctional rack at the back of the store. I thought it was just some random bunny notebook. "Bunny Kisses" and "What Shall I Wear Today?" were unmistakably Fifi, though. I asked the girl at the counter if they sold the notebook separately (it was part of a set that had an erasable marker, a Hello Miffy pen, and correction tape). After all, what was I going to do with the rest of the stuff? Come to think of it, what am I going to do with the notebook, anyway? Hahaha. But my lowest of low EQ got the best of me and walked out of the store with a dress (the gift) and that set. I regret nothing because look how pretty the notebook is.

I really think I have to go to Fifi Lapin rehab soon.I can't stop! What about you? What can't you get enough of?

A Love Affair

Sunset ♥
Originally uploaded by the best kind of nice
I finally got my LC-A to work and just like I imagined, paired with Kodak Elitechrome, it produces such beautiful colors!

I spent five lovely days on the beach with one of my best gals and her boyfriend and her parents. It was five days of relaxation, no worries, and lots of good, good food.

I got my 3 rolls back yesterday (1 roll came back unexposed—this was before figuring out that my LC-A's shutter wasn't opening) and I couldn't wait to see the photos.

Now I can't wait to load film into my cameras again and shoot! I love the surprise of waiting. Waiting if you'll be lucky this time or you'll have to try again. Maybe this is the good thing about the weather these days. The sun is always up, which only means my babies can come out and play!

5 Stages

  1. Denial
  2. "I just missed the first song. No way is it over."
"And for our last song. This is called 'Summertime'." (insert expletives and hysteria here)
  3. Anger
  4. "Why did they go first?! Shouldn't they have been second? I mean, Jed Madela? COME ON."
  5. Bargaining
  6. "Maybe if I didn't have that burger..."
"Maybe they'll have a secret show somewhere? Please, please, please..."
  7. Depression
  8. I spent the entire Sunday under the covers save for some Internet break and a cup of ice cream. It almost felt like I had just broken up with someone. I didn't want to talk, I just wanted to cry. No, scratch that. I wanted to die.
Come on, my friend sent this message to me: You'll get over it, it will just take a bit of time I guess.
  9. Acceptance
  10. Today, I have not stopped listening to their songs. I have started to laugh at my "depression." And more importantly, I am out of my room and eating.

Who would've thought it would hit me this hard?!

Cups of cake

I'm obsessed with cupcakes! If you know of any must-try recipes, point their way to me.

I believe that this is the yummy road to cake-making. It's something I've always wanted to do, but I keep falling short. Huhuhu. I want to be able to make those multi-tiered cakes with deelish icing. Or Devil's Food Cake with Marshmallow Icing. YUM.

Cile and I were talking about KitchenAid (She got a red one, I want a pink one!) and she suggested that I have my mixer Gmasked. HAHAHA! Parang I like. Imagine, my white KitchenAid covered in cherries. Cute! And it won't be as expensive as this pretty baby. At least feeling bago ang mixer. d:

I Think I'm Turning Japanese

(Maan will be pleased! d:)

I've been obsessing over this amazing artist for the past week. My brother showed me her work last year and I was blown away. It wasn't until early this week that I started checking out her website. I looooove her! I even found an illustration that had a strange likeness to me. I used it as my YM icon, and I had people asking if it were me. d: I WISH!

...which is why you see a new layout before you. All knowledge of HTML has left me, so I just used an old layout and tinkered with it a bit (in fairness, nag-Notepad lang ako. Ha ha!). I had to revert back to Blogger's "classic template" because *gasp* I have no idea what XML is or how you even code it. Ha ha. Gone are the days when I would whip out a new layout for my website week after week. Sigh. I miss those days. Kind of.

"Who'd have thought that love could be so caffeinated?"

As you might have already noticed, I am obsessed with TV series these days. I felt like I was going through some sort of withdrawal last night when I realized none of my shows (haha, "my," like I own them) were up for download yet. (But I just checked now, and Chuck is already available! Whee!)

So guess what I'm obsessing about? Who, rather. Kristin Chenoweth! I heart her. She is all kinds of awesome. Thank goodness for Pushing Daisies or else I would've never known about her. Okay, maybe not. She's Glinda in Wicked, and apparently, my friend has already sent 2 of her songs from the play way before. Ha ha!

Currently listening to this, though:

I love how she says "triple latte." Hahaha! Can't wait for the next episode of Pushing Daisies. One more day to go! Hahaha. OBSESSED!

My latest obsession

Well, one of many. I'm definitely addicted because I don't really make wallpapers (other than the ones on our website) but today, after making our October wallpapers, I ended up playing with some pictures.

My current desktop at the office:

I can't wait to go home and watch the fourth episode! Eek. And there's House, too. Man, I love my TV shows.

The Lineup

What I'm currently watching and downloading every week (in no particular order):

Chuck
Gossip Girl
Grey's Anatomy
Heroes
House
Private Practice
Pushing Daisies

Hey, I can watch one for each night of the week. Hahaha! Now, my computer desperately needs more free space.

Sunday slowdown

I admit that I have some weird obsessions. Like that phase I had with downloading every single font in the entire world wide web. Seriously. And I'd excitedly shriek at friggin' fonts on TV.

My latest obsession is Microsoft Visio. It's uh-mazing. Haha! Ok, it's nothing extraordinary except that I've gotten pretty good at making wireframes with them (thanks, gandang guro!). Haha! I had no idea what wireframes were prior to becoming web editor of Candymag.com. I always started out with an image (for a header, or for a background, whatever) and then bahala na yung layout. :P Hahaha!

OK. Before I scare you away, I have to squeeze in a quick plug. Hahaha! If you get a chance, do get a copy of the March issue of Candy with its all-new look. There's a blog special there (by me, ahem. haha) you might want to check out. How to up your "web cool quotient."

It's so funny that two other magazines have gotten me to write for them about all things web. Haha! Guys, I can write about stuff other than the Net, y'know. :P I'm just saying. Thank God they were all different topics and I didn't end up just repeating what I said in the other articles. Haha!

P.S.
I finally uploaded my supersampler pics! I like Fuji film better than Kodak. And boo, I think there's something wrong with my lenses!
