What's Your Type?

I've been home for four days and except for the dreadful heat, I'm actually enjoying all this free time. Since it's just me and the boys at home, we've been rotating household chores. Strangely enough, I think I'm getting the hang of washing dishes. Haha!

I've been binge-watching different series and catching up on ones I haven't seen yet. My new kacheapan fave? The Royals. LOL think of it as a cross between Gossip Girl and Reign (except set in present time). I'm also really liking iZombie a lot. Patty was right when she said it was kind of like Veronica Mars (Rob Thomas is the executive producer) and Dead Like Me (Bryan Fuller, I love you!). After finishing Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in half a day, I'm trying to finish Gotham—although it's more background music to me now than anything. |:

Here's what I've been busy with the past few days. Practicing my watercolor (as you can see with my new header), brush lettering, and calligraphy. Savoring all this free time because it's back to work tomorrow!

What about you? What have you been busy with this long weekend?

Out

Sometimes, I can't be bothered to get out of bed, but I'd been sick for 10 days (10 days!) and I was not about to spend another holiday wasting away. I was feeling much better after the concert so I figured maybe a night out won't be so bad.

Figured out a new way to style my hair. I've been obsessing about Kelly Framel's hair since I decided to start growing out my pixie and I attempted to amplify my waves with my flat iron. (:  Didn't really stay curled too long, but I'm glad my flat iron will see the light of day again (it was so expensive, ack!).

Headed to a new place that didn't make me feel old. No grinding kids on top of each other (I swear this has happened—and not too long ago!), music I can actually sing along to, and more importantly, no smoking (yet, haha)! Kind of glad I decided to go out dancing with my friends. Worth standing in heels for 5 hours. Haha!

Woke up for lunch today and didn't leave my room again till I needed to go to the bathroom. Thank goodness for the holiday. (:

Can't wait for next weekend. Also, November means I'm turning 29 soon. Twenty-nine. Can you believe it?

Hanging Out With My Girls

My family usually tags along with my dad's brother's family (that's a lot of apostrophes) on long weekends to Tagaytay, but this time we didn't have any plans. Most of our friends already had plans (or work, boo!) so it was just me, Laika, and Mikko. Fun times as always: painting our nails, our favorite crepes, a new resto, and impromptu "shopping" at Mix's igloo.

I think the next time we hang out, we should bring extra clothes so we can play Fruit Ninja or Dance Central. Haha! We always just end up sitting around and eating, which is totally fun but not good for our metabolism. :))

Hopefully the weather makes up its mind (woke up to a really sunny morning then the rain just came crashing down again) so we can visit Mommy today.

What are your plans for the long weekend?

Details

These days have been busy and fast and I don't realize it until I get home late at night and have no more energy to leisurely surf (oh this, how I miss!). So I end up staying home on weekends in front of the computer because I can't be bothered to get out of the clothes I slept in.

Last weekend, though, I got to catch Kaich in Legally Blonde the Musical. It was funny and entertaining and Roch and I had fun spotting Kaich's 7 characters (we actually missed one!). Found myself back in Meralco Theater where my mom took me to see my first musical—Grease with Lea Salonga as Sandra Dee and Cita Astals as Rizzo of The Pink Ladies.

I haven't been posting much and I regret not doing so because I'd hate to forget the small details in this currently busy life (hand me the pause button, please).

Like last Friday night when I caught up with friends after a long day at work. Roasters on Katipunan looks different now. Had my usual solo A in between kwento with Niña, Binky, and Lani. I miss hanging out with my high school friends. They noticed how busy I've been since I haven't been organizing dinners and that I take a bit long to reply to messages. Sigh.

Or last Thursday when we went to an event for the most maarte phone ever. And I mean that in the best, cutest way possible. (: Will post about it next time.

For now, I shall veg in front of my TV and try to finish work later tonight. This week will be about cupcakes, cool weather, and finally, rest. Sort of.

Long weekends

What do you do on long weekends? Usually, we'd go to somewhere cooler like Baguio or Tagaytay. Or if I get to plan ahead, I'll disappear into the sun on some beach.

This is the second long weekend in a row that I've stayed at home. So far, I've... eaten half a bag of my Ruffles from last week (no chips for forty days was killer!), bullied my dad into treating me and Nior to Cornetto (super love the tugs tugs commercial, haha), caught up with my Tumblr dashboard, painted my nails a pretty shade of Tiffany blue, and watched an awesome episode of The Vampire Diaries.

If not for the horrible heat, my day would probably be perfect. I especially love the time when dad, Nior, and I are all in the living room and Nior and dad are teasing each other. Haha. Today, they were tickling each other for the remote control. You had to be there.

Tomorrow, I'm seeing Kaich for a chocolatey afternoon and then going to Mass in the super conservative Church with dad. What are your plans?
