Photo Diary: Bahay Marikit (San Juan, Batangas)

Allow me one #throwbackthursday photo collage before I dive into a flashback trip to San Juan, Batangas. I don't remember exactly when but I suppose our choice of swimsuits might be an indication that the last time I was in Bahay Marikit was a very long time ago.

So when Mikko told me she was heading to Batangas with some crafty friends to check out the place and plan out the second Craft Camp, I was super excited to tag along.

While Alessa, Mansy, Isa, Mikko, and Ninna were hanging out by the pool, I went around and explored the place a bit more.

Beautiful place with a lot of fun memories. Can't wait to go back in 3 weeks to craft by the pool and under the sun some more. So glad I took a day off to get away for a bit. (:

Have you signed up for the second Craft Camp yet?

I Think I'm Turning Japanese

(Maan will be pleased! d:)

I've been obsessing over this amazing artist for the past week. My brother showed me her work last year and I was blown away. It wasn't until early this week that I started checking out her website. I looooove her! I even found an illustration that had a strange likeness to me. I used it as my YM icon, and I had people asking if it were me. d: I WISH!

...which is why you see a new layout before you. All knowledge of HTML has left me, so I just used an old layout and tinkered with it a bit (in fairness, nag-Notepad lang ako. Ha ha!). I had to revert back to Blogger's "classic template" because *gasp* I have no idea what XML is or how you even code it. Ha ha. Gone are the days when I would whip out a new layout for my website week after week. Sigh. I miss those days. Kind of.

I love you, PG!

I still can't believe I watched this. Live. In Ateneo. With my friends. LIVE. Ha ha!

And we obsessed over it for MONTHS. We had a VHS of the show when they aired it. And we memorized "Power of the Dream" and copied the dance to "My Boo." God. So many teenybopper memories.

I watched all 11 parts on YouTube this morning and I swear I still got kilig when Patrick Garcia says, "Crush ko lahat ng babae dito." OMG. So you can imagine the heartbreak I felt when news broke that he got this girl pregnant. Sigh. (But I hear they're not together anymore!)

You know what's up

My old workplace still gives me chills. I hate it there. I hate it. Hate it. HATE.

But this makes me happy:

Looking back

It was two years ago yesterday that we had our first day of training in the now-defunct Talent Development and Management Center with Miss Gigi and Miss Lelen. My friends in high school always thought of me as a human calendar so I remember things like this.

Two days from now last year was my last day in Wazzup, which I lovingly called "Hell." Strangely enough, I was sad when I left. I missed the familiarity of everything. I grew into my routine of waking up at 6 and doing my internet scans before taking a bath and having breakfast. I'd be in the office at 9, printing out the Village Girls' scans, photocopying them in the Studio 23 office, and stapling them together for the episode writers. I'd label each with my pink highlighter and hand deliver two sets to the fifteenth floor.

A year later, I grew out of it. I started a new routine and fell much more in love with it. I don't go to work crying to my mom at the breakfast table. I eat lunch with my boss and my officemates. I don't miss production anymore. I don't even want to go back anymore and I wouldn't if I had a choice. And I do, thank God.

It takes a while for me to get over things. I got over my very first boyfriend three years after he broke up with me. I feel like I'm still stuck in high school (minus the drama). But I think I'm finally learning to let go. Of things I have no control over, of things that make me miserable, and of things that keep me from growing.
