I believe in the power of prayer

Stay safe, be prepared, but most important of all, PRAY.

"Almighty Father, we raise our hearts to You in gratitude for the wonders of creation of which we are part, for Your providence in sustaining us in our needs, and for Your wisdom that guides the course of the universe.

"We acknowledge our sins against You and the rest of creation.

"We have not been good stewards of Nature.

"We have confused Your command to subdue the earth.

"The environment is made to suffer our wrongdoing, and now we reap the harvest of our abuse and indifference.

"Global warming is upon us. Typhoons, floods, volcanic eruption, and other natural calamities occur in increasing number and intensity.

"We turn to You, our loving Father, and beg forgiveness for our sins.

"We ask that we, our loved ones and our hard earned possessions be spared from the threat of calamities, natural and man-made.

"We beseech You to inspire us all to grow into responsible stewards of Your creation, and generous neighbors to those in need.

"Amen."

P.S. to previous post

Coming out of the office lobby, my face instantly lit up at the image of my dad smiling at me from our van.

I looked at my watch. It was 7:00 in the evening.

My daddy is in bed by six.

I didn't know whether I wanted to cry or smile or both.

I am so loved. And so lucky.

Thank You Lord for these little treasures that make me feel like life is still worth something.

Tired of being number 2, I can do what she can do

Since I haven't been baking for awhile now (been sick, I don't want to contaminate Macy's Fields goodies), I've been looking to my other de-stresser. Dancing! Hee hee. After one week of rest from dance class with my officemates, we finally resumed last night.

It was a coincidence that the new song we learned the choreo to was also by Janet Jackson (our first dance was "Feedback" taught by the peeps from CADS), "So Much Betta." I love it!

It was so nice to snuggle under the covers after a long, cold shower. I woke up this morning to a Reese's Peanut Butter Pie and although it was already smashed (it fell on its side inside the box. Boo.), it was so yummy.

Today's going to be a long day. I'm dreading 4pm, yet I'm also hoping that I'll finally understand what will go on in our lives for the weeks to come. I'm scared as hell. Please pray for me and my family.

Power of prayer

This is clearly something out of my hands now. I cannot change a person, but I can pray for the person.

Holy Week na nga naman. No more angst.

Also, it has to be mentioned, baking is the greatest de-stresser ever. I love you Banana Nutella Muffins with an extra special surprise! May you make my family happy tomorrow.

Mothers be good to your daughters

Dear God,

Please do not scare me like you did last night. I am not equipped with the skills to deal with "Hindi ako makahinga." I am not strong enough to see my mother panting in her sleep. I am not ready to take care of my mother like this. Please make her better and take her pain away. Please. It's the only thing I wish for right now. If it takes several nights of sleeping past midnight, because I am rubbing her back so she can breathe, I will do it. But please, make it all better for her. I don't like seeing her in discomfort. She is my mother. She's supposed to be invincible.

The law of attraction

I think the reason why I've been pissed off lately and been having so many bad days is that I keep talking negatively. I know it's okay to rant about stuff that gets to you, but I guess if you do it all the time, you just attract even more bad energy.

A wake up call was when a friend of mine told me that he thought I should speak only of good things about the person that makes me feel bad. That way, that person will eventually make me feel good. It's hard and must be the most challenging thing in the world to do but I'm going to give it a shot. He also told me that God put that person in that person's position and me in mine for a reason. I don't mean to be preachy or anything like that, but having some quiet time and talking to Him the past few days have helped a lot. Maybe that's why I've been having better days, too.

So I will think of the good things and the good things will come back to me. (:
