When did you start dancing?: My first memory of dancing was my mom "teaching" me ballet in our backyard in Marikina. Ha ha! Yes, it took years and several pictures for me to realize that no, those were not real ballet lessons. It was me and my mom. In our backyard. In leotards and tights—pink and red!
When did you sign up for your first dance class?: Very first class? I'm not really sure, but probably the first real dance class I attended (and paid for) was the one in Powerdance back in college (summer after Freshman year). I wanted so badly to get into UP Street. Heh.
What genre was it?: Street/Hiphop and Jazz.
What type of dance do you do now?: Street/Hiphop and I sometimes attempt (operative word being ATTEMPT) jazz funk/funk fusion.
Do you dance on a team?: Well, kind of.
What's the team's name?: UP StreetDance Club in college (I miss!) and the S----- Cru (hahahaha) at work. d:
Where do you usually perform?: My first ever performance for UP Street was at the Cersa Open House in Ateneo. Oh God. The one where we stood motionless for 10 seconds. Ahhhh! O:
How often do you perform?: My last performance was three years ago?
Have you ever been on TV for dance?: Nope.
Have you ever been in the paper for dance?: I think we got featured in a magazine before for a concert.
Have you ever had to compete or do a show with cheerleaders?: I was part of UP Street's Elevate compet team for two years—one of which we won first place (the following year, we lost to UP Filipiniana?).
Have you ever had to dance to Jock Jams?: Is this a cheerleader thing? The one with sound effects? If yes, then, yes.
What was the last song you performed/competed to?: Last performed to was "Hotline" and "Wait a Minute" at my last UP Street concert. ):
What was your last costume?: I forget what it was called but I was in orange and green. Nya.
What is your current performance song?: Not really a performance song, but we were learning the Switch and Sinden remix of Santogold's "You'll Find A Way" two weeks ago in dance class.
How often a week do you dance?: Sigh, not often enough.
Do you choreograph?: No, hehe.
What are you favorite dance movies?: But there are so many! Haha! Save the Last Dance, Step Up 1 and 2, You Got Served, Honey, Bring It On
Has anyone wanted to date you just because you're a dancer?: Haha parang no. They usually find out after and are very much surprised. :))
Do you have makeup people for your shows?: No, haha! We do our own makeup in UP Street.
What hip hop/pop singer is your dance style closest to?: Eh? I don't know.
Do you want to dance professionally?: No. (:
What do your friends/family think of your dancing?: My mom used to hate the training and rehearsals. I'd always get home late.
What move/moves are you worst at?: Stunts. Nya.
What move/moves are you best at?: Yung tamang mga pa-cute lang. Hahaha! Kidding. I'm really not sure.
Are dancers stereotyped?: Such as?
Is dancing a sport?: I never really considered it to be, but it should be!
If you could dance at any event what would it be?: Backup for Justin Timberlake. Ahhhhh.
Has anyone ever asked you for your autograph?: Hahaha, not for dancing, though. d:
Did you inherit your dance talent?: My mom loved ballroom dancing, so I'm guessing the dancing gene is from her. d:
And my files still haven't finished transferring. Hay!

Tired of being number 2, I can do what she can do
Since I haven't been baking for awhile now (been sick, I don't want to contaminate Macy's Fields goodies), I've been looking to my other de-stresser. Dancing! Hee hee. After one week of rest from dance class with my officemates, we finally resumed last night.
It was a coincidence that the new song we learned the choreo to was also by Janet Jackson (our first dance was "Feedback" taught by the peeps from CADS), "So Much Betta." I love it!
It was so nice to snuggle under the covers after a long, cold shower. I woke up this morning to a Reese's Peanut Butter Pie and although it was already smashed (it fell on its side inside the box. Boo.), it was so yummy.
Today's going to be a long day. I'm dreading 4pm, yet I'm also hoping that I'll finally understand what will go on in our lives for the weeks to come. I'm scared as hell. Please pray for me and my family.

don't walk, just dance
It's been two weeks since our last Breakfast Challenge. Haha, it's funny how people are actually asking why there isn't one today. d:
Peter, our all-around boy/yayo/cook, is home on weekends because his kids are on their summer vacation. So his family is staying here at home while they're on vacation. Meaning, we don't cook breakfast. That's why there hasn't been any activity in the kitchen by me or my brother.
(In-explain ko talaga eh, no?)

If last weekend was all about the beach and spending time with my high school girls, this weekend was all about dancing!
I finally got around to attending classes here and even if by the end of the day I was ready to collapse from exhaustion, it was well worth it. It didn't matter if I missed the timing, or that I couldn't really follow everything exactly. I was there, dancing like no one was watching and it felt good. I hope I can continue this. (:

And all she wants is to dance

I'm sleepy, still. I had about five pralines and 1 disc of super yummy Royce'. There are only two more pralines left—and I just opened the pack this afternoon! Chocolate in this family will never really last more than a week. :P
I can't wait for next week. Aero funk and Smooves, birthday dinner for Binky, "How-come-I" with Pats and Kaich, and hopefully, the Prom Site will be up and running. Awesome. The weekend hasn't even ended and my entire week is booked. Haha! No more series of unfortunate events, I hope! (So funny that the entire Candy team has been having some sort of bad luck this past week.)
Anyhoo, very random: I wish I drew like her or her. (:

Jump and move
Whee! I'm so happy! Finally attended the Smooves class and even if I could barely keep up, I'm so happy I went. It was really nice to get to dance with Jessie, too, since I used to train with her. I'm looking forward to joining the class twice a week. Maybe I'll get my groove back. (:
In other news, my brother came home from Singapore this morning and brought loads of chocolate with him. Naturally, we attacked the stash right after breakfast. He also brought home GODIVA. Ohmygoodness. Heaven in a bar. Love it! My dad's brother's ex-wife also sent us boxes of Royce chocolate. Yuuuuuum. I didn't get to taste the mint chocolate because they finished it already. Haha! But I've got a pretty blue box sitting on my bed full of praline. Yuuuum. So much for the "exercise" I got tonight. Haha! Heyyy, I can't turn down chocolate. I just can't. Ever. Anyway, Tita Iris (the ex-wife) also sent pashminas in multiple shades of lovely. Aww, she's so sweet. She remembers all of us even if we haven't seen her in so many years. I don't really use pashminas haha but they're pretty. :P And she even got me a pink one—she asked what my favorite color was.
Good night, loves. Endorphins make you happy. :D
