Daydreaming of Someday

Music Monday

Been listening to this all weekend! Heheheyyy. Not exactly the best song lyrics, but it's so catchy and this cover by Vampire Weekend is  awesome!

Of firsts

It's our first Christmas in our "new" old home. We've been staying in my mom's sister's house for almost nine months now. Wow, nine months. That's like a full-term baby. We're luckier than most I suppose, having family who's supportive and you know will always have your back no matter what. Maybe someday, we'll get to save up for our own home and we'll get to return the favor somehow.

The past few months have been long and tiring and never-ending. I always think to myself, maybe next week, I'll get some time to just, well, do nothing. But that never seems to be the case. But I guess I'm also grateful. For time with family, friends, and even work. And how blessed I've been recently.

When I came home Friday night after dinner with friends, I saw that my dad had already set up our beautiful black tree in the living room. And when I woke up the next morning, he had also asked that the Christmas plates be brought out.

Christmas seemed like such a strange and distant holiday to me two years ago. I still feel that it is. But as I'm always trying to look at the brighter side of things, I know that just like every year, we'll manage to make it a happy one. (:

Long weekends

What do you do on long weekends? Usually, we'd go to somewhere cooler like Baguio or Tagaytay. Or if I get to plan ahead, I'll disappear into the sun on some beach.

This is the second long weekend in a row that I've stayed at home. So far, I've... eaten half a bag of my Ruffles from last week (no chips for forty days was killer!), bullied my dad into treating me and Nior to Cornetto (super love the tugs tugs commercial, haha), caught up with my Tumblr dashboard, painted my nails a pretty shade of Tiffany blue, and watched an awesome episode of The Vampire Diaries.

If not for the horrible heat, my day would probably be perfect. I especially love the time when dad, Nior, and I are all in the living room and Nior and dad are teasing each other. Haha. Today, they were tickling each other for the remote control. You had to be there.

Tomorrow, I'm seeing Kaich for a chocolatey afternoon and then going to Mass in the super conservative Church with dad. What are your plans?

The Big Move 2.0

About a year and a half ago, we were getting ready for The Big Move. It never happened. Stuff was moved around from one place to another, but we remained in what we always believed to be "home."

Until Thursday night that is. Sleeping somewhere other than home was strange. We all stayed in one room and it was quiet. There was no television, no computer—no distraction.

It's been a week since and I'm finally staying in "my room." In quotations, because I can't even imagine it as mine, really. It's like it's on loan still. The walls are bare save for some of my cousin's study notes and religious posters. I'm sleeping in my bed (truly mine), but it still feels out of place.

The weekend went by quickly, but the house is now slowly feeling like... well, home.

Now, I'm waiting for space inside to free up so we can setup the oven and I can bake. Maybe that will help make me feel at home. (Well, that and probably some television and Internet. Haha, such a geek.)
