'Cause this ride's never gonna stop

I am totally loving the new Blogger interface! So sleek and clean. (:

I just wanted to let y'all know (all 3 of you, including myself, sigh) that I'm still alive. For a really short work week, this sure felt like the longest one yet.

Here's hoping I survive the rest of September, because it certainly feels like I'm in for a ride.

Eager Beaver, 2011 Edition

Most people were dreading their first day back at work. I was mostly bummed at the fact that I couldn't use the computer while lying on my tummy. Work never really feels like work for me because I do practically the same thing on vacation: surf! The only difference is, I actually upload stories online at work.

But that's not the point of my entry. I just want to show you another reason why I was so excited to go back to work: my new office supplies!

Goodies from my birthday and Christmas. I love that my friends are equally obsessed with paper products and office supplies. The Candy Girls gave me my second Teneues planner by Hanna Werning. They were worried I wouldn't like the zebras, but I actually do! Last year's planner had bunnies and deer. (: My former boss Ines gave me the dolphin paper clips (so cute!). The sticky notes set is from Mark♥Barb. I love it! I was thinking of getting myself another design when we went to National Bookstore's Work Station launch but I'm glad I didn't because this pattern is so me! Thank you!

I got these cutesy sticky notes on a trip to Fully Booked with the Candy Girls. Hee. I have another Parisian-themed set but I thought these animals went perfectly with my planner. Donchathink?

How cute is my new mousepad??? Thank you, Margs!!! (: When I opened it, I let out a squeal. She wasn't kidding when she kept asking me to open it already because she said it was so me. Also, her gift had a bunch of sticky notes, too. (There are so many more I got that are not pictured here!) What I'm going to do with all these notes, IDK. But expect a note from me soon! d:

Here's my planner finally broken in: my first, uh, plan for the year. And I'm using a pen now instead of pencil because wala lang. That way deadlines, dates, plans are final because using white out is just going to make my planner ugly.

I can't wait to make plans for 2011!

Where did the month go?

I really wish life had a pause button.

It's so busy sometimes, I don't realize that it's been 24 hours already. Sigh.

My 9pm bedtime is long gone. Hope to see you again in 2010!

Sending this out to the universe

My head is about to explode (and it's just 10 in the morning) from all this planning and slide editing. But I had to stop for a few minutes and join this most awesome contest in the world.

Fifi Lapin, I ♥ you! Please make me win that bag! (:

Please, please, please let me get what I want this time

via ZooeyDeschanel

For the ladies, what do you do when it's that time of the month? I've been trying to concentrate on finishing these slides I need for a seminar at work, but my twitching female innards (haha) are distracting me. I want a bed and lots of darkness right about now. Sigh.

Trying to get by with a fizzy drink (somehow I've brainwashed myself into thinking that Coke solves all my girly problems), some good music (found a link to the 500 Days of Summer OST), and the cool AC. I want to go home. /:

Sometimes, all it takes is a nice pair of shoes (that you've been desperately eying for two weeks now) and bright toe nails that you painted yourself to get through a busy week. (:

How You Cookin'?

The Getting to Know You Quiz
via How to Eat a Cupcake

Metal or non-stick? Non-stick. Less mess. (:

Cast iron or stainless? I'm not sure. Both?

Cutting board: silicone or wood? Wood. I don't think I've ever owned a silicone board.

Knife: carbon steel or stainless? I rarely use the knife so I'm not sure, either. Is there a difference? Haha.

Kitchenaid or hand mixer? KitchenAid fo sho. I have two. One handed down to me by my Mommy and one given to me as a gift by her sisters.

Cooktop: gas, electric, induction? Gas. That's the only one we have I think.

Side-by-side, freezer on top, fridge on top? Right now, freezer on top. (: I don't have a house of my own yet, therefore no refrigerator of my own, either.

Apron or whoops? I have lots of aprons at home! But it's just too hot to wear one. I really should though. I keep getting myself in flour or confectioner's sugar. Haha! I have cute one that looks like a dress (my brother gave it to me for Christmas) and another one that says Pushing Daisies across it.

Mashed potatoes: by hand, ricer, or mixer? I haven't made mashed potatoes in a loooong time. But I think I mash them with a fork... by hand.

Sandwich or wrap? Sandwiches are easier to make. But only because sandwich bread is easier to find here in Manila. Haha!

PB & _________ ? Nutella! Duh. d:

Pancakes: syrup or applesauce? Do you even put apple sauce on pancakes? Maple syrup! Or peanut butter and Nutella. Haha, sorry, those are two of my favorite things to eat.

Cake: scratch or mix? Scratch. I don't think I've ever made a cake from box mix.

Chili: beans or no? I've never made chili... so.

Napkin: cloth or paper? We only use the paper ones here at home.

BBQ: takes the whole weekend to make or take out? It doesn't take the whole weekend to make! d: I love the chicken barbecue our houseboy and all-around helper makes. It's got soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, and a bit of white wine in it. Mmm, tasty!

Chicken: white or dark? I don't really have a preference. I usually go for the bigger part. Hahaha!

Ice cream: cone or dish? Either way, I'll eat it! But if it's in a cone I like waffle cones or sugar cones. (: Mmm. Now I want some ice cream!

Answer it, too!

trying to float my way to you
but it's no use
in a crowded room
where everybody wants you

Choosy

Are you a picky person when it comes to friends? I mean, even to something as trivial as your Multiply or Friendster friends list? Or do you just add whoever, because s/he looks remotely familiar or s/he's the friend of the cousin of your second grade seatmate?

Haha, I realize this blog has been a dumping ground for so many very random thoughts.

But seriously, is that good Netiquette? To add people just because they added you? Or is it okay not to do anything to those requests? Not like it's a matter of life and death, but a friend pointed out the other day at the amount of requests I had on a certain site. And I said, "I don't know them!" or "Hindi ko naman kasi siya friend." Does that make me a meanie? (I am actually an SMG: secret mean girl. Haha!) Because to me that girl who I "know" in high school isn't my friend unless we actually talked and interacted. Riiiight?

Wala lang. I don't even know why I bother. :)) But it's something I've always wanted to post about. Do you approve everyone who requests to be your friend? (Haha, this can be applied to real life interaction also, come to think of it.) Because I know I don't just cozy up to everysingleperson I meet. Haha!

Grabe, masyado kong sineseryoso ang mga bagay-bagay. Good night!

Happiness is...

Maybe I should stop saying I'm feeling better, because it kind of jinxes my recovery. So, yeah.

I will just list a few things that could possibly make me feel better (not saying that I'm already better, okay? *shakes fist at the universe*), because you know, I could still be in a hoodie, shivering and sniffling. But I'll leave that up to your imagination.

  1. My sweet officemates being silly, making me a fan page on Facebook. Become a fan here! I don't even have a Facebook account so I don't know exactly how it works. I want to add pictures and everything, but I don't own the page (like I do Candy's). So indulge me.

  2. Santogold by Santogold. Ever since we danced to Switch and Sinden's remix of "You'll Find A Way," I've been listening to her album. It's awesome! I should've looked her up ever since I spotted her on the cover of my brother's Fader magazine a few weeks ago.

  3. My daddy. Ever the comedian, we spent the entire ride home trying to understand his kwento, with matching sound effects. As in, "Vroom, vroom!" Hahaha! My goodness, we were in stitches! Also notable was the chicken teriyaki-stuffed fried bread (whatever you call it) from Ministop that he bought for me for the ride home. Aww. I told you my dad is the sweetest boy alive! Never mind that the oil in that thing made my head throb all night.

  4. A new computer! Well, in the office at least. I wasn't even there when they set it up, but woohoo! Can you imagine how excited I am to come to work on Monday? Yeahhh. (Also, we got our report cards yesterday and I'm happy with mine. d:)

  5. My brother's in Malaysia truly Asia! Chicosci is this year's Philippines Favorite Artist at the MTV Asia Awards. Woot! He brought my camera so I'm gonna get first dibs on those backstage pics (not to mention the after party's! Woohoo!).

  6. My "Don't Walk, Just Dance" play list that makes me want to bust a move. Because sometimes, I don't want to listen to a gloomy, rainy play list on a... gloomy, rainy day.

  7. Bacon drowning in maple syrup—my favoritest breakfast food EVER. And I am glad to report my taste buds are no longer MIA. Hoo-ray.

  8. Lipton's Green Tea Citrus. Tastes like Grapefruit and Orange. Never thought I'd say this, but I love it! I downed 3 mugs in the office yesterday. Mmm.

  9. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist's trailer! Michael Cera is ♥. I can't wait to see this movie. I strongly urge you to grab the book and read it. Like, now.

  10. The bad first: I woke up at 2:30 in the morning today. Shyeah. I don't know why, either. I tried my best to go back to sleep but after tossing and turning in between a rerun of Late Night with David Letterman and Beauty and the Geek, I gave up and went to my dad, who I assumed was already up. We sat through a screening of Radio Romance on Cinema One. HAHAHA! Laugh trip. How can that not make you feel better? :)) Hello, Claudine Barretto pre-eyebrow plucking, Rico Yan, Jolina in her colorful days, and so on. :))

Oh, I can tell this is going to be a good day despite the storm brewing outside. (:

Different People

I think I'm one of those people who will never forget something wrong that's been done to me or to people I love. I am very particular with how people treat others. Because I've always believed that once a person has done something, they can always do it again. Call me jaded, but that's how I see the world. While it's so easy for some to forget, I seem to always remember.

This is what happens when I've been up since 5:30am and still up past 10. It's past my bedtime!!!

4.07.2008

Pag in love lang ba pwede blooming?

P: Are you seeing someone?
M: No, why?
P: Blooming ka kasi eh.

HAHAHA. And that is why I love ya, Pats! You always know what to say to make me happy. :)) Kahit minsan alam kong may halong bola. d:

2.17.2008

Chips!

My brother's old office sent us BOXES of coffee, candy, and chips. We didn't even get to open the boxes of chips until we got settled back home.

I have to say, good job, URC! The Nova Italian Herbs and Chippy Beef and Chili are so yummy. The Nova is great for my favorite snack: chips dipped in Nutella. And the Chippy tastes like tacos!

God, I sound like an advertisement. Ha ha!

I should watch my chip intake, though. d: Or else Imma get bloated, fo' shiz*. d:

*Juno was awesome! I loved it. I love Ellen Page!

Petty Peeves

Slight kababawan lang `to pero nasa mood ako maglista so...

  1. Girls who giggle and ask for my brother on the phone. STOP CALLING! >_<
  2. People I don't know who call me "Mace." Hello, close ba tayo?
  3. People who misspell my name. M-A-C-Y. I went to Dairy Queen one time and my receipt read, "MESY." It was funny on paper, but even funnier when they called out my name when my Blizzard was ready. So now, I always flash them my ID so they spell my name right.
  4. Pimples that pop up after my period. Aren't they supposed to be gone along with your period? Harrr. I am no longer a teen!
  5. Paasa blow dried hair. Haircuts always look so much better when you've come right out of the salon. d: Sana meron akong personal na taga-blow dry. Ha ha! JOKE LANG.

Yun lang. Bow.

Last I Checked, Yeah.

Hilarious. Roch and I are spending our Sunday night, checking out the Candy Multiply account. From 812 pending invites at around 3 hours ago, maybe, we're down to 289 invites. Hahaha!

And yes, we're both HUMAN! Kthxbye.

A little lamb lost

Because the weather is just the right kind of gloomy, I'll write about something I haven't been talking about for some time now.

I've always believed that your love life doesn't really define who you are. I'm not being bitter. Ha ha. It's just that I don't think you should be judged just based on whether you have a boyfriend/a husband/a partner/whatever-you-call-them-these-days or not. All of my twenty-four years (minus the few years I did manage to have a relationship), I've always been asked if I have a boyfriend, why don't I have one, isn't anyone courting me. Yes, those three questions, always in succession. Sometimes, I get tired of answering. Why is it hard to believe that I don't? Or that I don't really know why I don't have one. And that it is possible to not have someone pursue you at one point in your life. Why, are you supposed to have a suitor 24/7? 365 days a year? Because if you are, well, sorry. I was not informed.

It can get frustrating. Some people think you've given up and lost all hope and that's why you've turned into those people who would gladly stay single for the rest of their lives. But the truth is, you're just scared. Scared that everything is just one big cycle and you'll end up exactly the way you were before it started. So why bother?

I haven't lost all hope nor have I given up. I guess this time I'm just more cautious. My mom would always recite these lines to me, "Hindi hinahanap yun, dumadating." So I followed, waited patiently. It came but it also left. Some friends said you had to put some effort into it, make things happen. I tried that, too. And I only ended up getting my heart broken and it felt even worse than the first (two) time(s). So what's a girl to do?

I wait patiently and pray that someone will come and watch over me—eventually. Someone who, hopefully, is also patient and willing to wait. (:

When I was much younger, I'd always answer "25" when asked what my ideal marrying age would be. That's only three months away. Highly unlikely that a wedding will happen between today and the day I turn 25. d: But I do believe that someday, I will get to do that. (: First, I'll have to fall in love.
