#NowPlaying: '90s Girl

Back in the age of Napster, Audio Galaxy, and Kazaa (hahaha), I remember listening to all my faves and downloading my absolute favorite tracks even if I already had cassette tapes and CDs of their songs.

Back in high school, one of my favorite performances ever was when we danced to Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody" for the school fair. Garbed in tank tops and the baggiest pants, we channeled baby girl's swag all of 4 and a half minutes after weeks of rehearsing. If I remember right, we watched the music video over and over again so we could copy the steps. Haha! We would eventually do this for other performances like Jordan Knight's "Give It To U," lol.

I missed the '90s so much that I decided to search for some of my favorite tunes on Spotify (love Spotify!). Which one's your favorite?

Breakfast for Dinner Always Wins

Music Monday

Tasty Tuesday

Caramel + Nutella + Bananas (instead of mango) + Sliced Almonds, all inside a Chocolate Crepe with Whipped Cream on the side = Perfection!

Wishful Wednesday
I want to go back here for my birthday. I'm not sure if it's a good idea, though, since it'll be rainy. But I really want to go back. And this P15,888+ "Sunny Day Guarantee" promo is making it harder and harder to resist!

Thoughtful Thursday

Went to the launch of Samantha Sotto's book Before Ever After with Marla and Mia last week. I read up about her story and how she got published by Random House (OH MY WOW!) and got so inspired. I started her book and I still can't believe that she just started writing all of it after watching The Time Traveler's Wife and then spending most mornings in a coffee shop while waiting to pick up her kid after school. A-mazing! Makes you believe that dreams really do come true and that the first step towards making them come true is taking action!

Fashion Friday
One of my favorite flats finally died a natural death, when it just split through the middle last Thursday night. Sniff. I loved that pair and I'm sad they don't sell the same model/color anymore. I ended up getting a pair of comfy flats on sale. (:

A Very Macy Christmas To You!

I've had this play list for a couple of years now and keep adding a few new songs I find on the Interwebs. I think my favorite is Jason Mraz ♥ Tristan Prettyman's "All I Want For Christmas (Is Us)." And also Belle & Sebastian's "12 Days of Christmas." And "Baby, It's Cold Outside" from the Elf sound track. Okay, maybe it's safe to say, I like all of the songs. I've got a few more from Sufjan Stevens and Belle & Sebastian but you can't upload more than 1 track from the same artist on 8tracks.

What's on your holiday play list?

Until the weekend comes

My weekends have been constantly steady lately. Mostly made up of a long, lazy breakfast, witnessing a tickle fest between my youngest brother and my dad, putting stuff on my Tumblr queue and ticking off all the unread stuff on my Netvibes, watching TV in the room, and ordering in lunch that lasts until dinner.

I try not to think about work but sometimes, I can't help it. Lately though, I've been trying to finish everything in five days so that I have at least two days to myself and my silly obsessions (like learning how to paint my nails by myself—I'm getting better at doing my right hand).

This week, I'm looking forward to a shoot, Chocolate Chip Cookies, possibly dinner with my high school girls, and payday (haha!).

Oh, and I made a mix for a rainy day like this.
  1. "Choux Pastry Heart" - Corinne Bailey Rae

  2. "Under Your Charms" - Josh Rouse

  3. "Honey Bee" - Zee Avi

  4. "Lilac Wine" - Jeff Buckley

  5. "Minor Detail" - Sondre Lerche

  6. "Simple Life" - The Weepies

  7. "You and I" - Wilco

  8. "Nice Day For A Sulk" - Belle & Sebastian

  9. "Calendar Girl" - Stars

I made a mix.

It's actually an old mix, but I listened to it last night on my way home and I figured I'd upload it and share with everyone.
